Beautiful Butterfly Bureau SOLD

We picked up this bureau when seeing it needed some TLC and transformation from faded grandeur to give it a pop of new life in versatile Paris Grey chalk paint. There was great deal of prep – rubbing down, filling and straightening the arm mechanism. The very tarnished black drawer handles revealed themselves to be brass after a lot of polishing, although still not perfect but worn looking.  After this a few coats of chalk paint took it to a more contemporary look, but it begged further treatment to give it new life. Hey presto the butterfly paper decoupaged to the front started the butterfly journey and with a few extra butterflies we felt they just had to find a place decoupaged also on the side.

One escaped and ended up in the left hand drawer so there it stayed – decoupaged forever!

The rest of the interior is grey, the 2 shelves have a little Designers Guild wallpaper decoupaged to them to give more interest. The drawer knobs have been painted silver.
