Large Shabby Chic Pine Dresser

The 1980’s American pine dresser was a donation and ideal to be transformed and upcycled so that it could start a new life at the HOC Studio. It now sits proudly, containing many of the paints, tools and materials we use on a day to day basis.

When this handsome pine dresser arrived, we had to remove the top to get it in! The prep was extensive as it was covered in a clear glaze which needed some sanding. The knots were covered, and some of the bigger cracks were filled where it had dried out and stood idle in its previous home. It was then painted in ‘Paris Grey’ Annie Sloan chalk paint and finished in clear and dark wax to give that aged look. It was very distressed in places to also give an authentic aged appearance. It’s a great piece and very much at home in our workshop.
